Mrs. Ocie Hardaway Feggans, 79, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Sunday, July 26, 2015. She was born September 18, 1935 in Forston, Georgia the daughter of the late Mr. Ossie Love Hardaway and the late Mrs. Jimmie Lee Kimbrough Hardaway. She married Joseph Feggans on September 18,1954 in Columbus, GA. She was retired from Douglas General Hospital having worked many years as a dedicated nurse. She was a born again Christian who attended Prospect A.M.E. as a child, a member of Water of Life Christian Center for 22 years and most recently has been attending Atlanta West Pentecostal in Lithia Springs for the past 6 years. She volunteered for the food and Prayer Warriors ministry while attending Water of Life. She devoted her life to caring for others. She loved reading her Bible and listening to Jimmy Swaggert. She was an avid shopper, enjoyed walking, Bible study and talking to family and friends. She was devoted to her beloved family and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who referred to her as âDEARâ. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a great-grandchild, Jordan Jenkins; and a brother-in-law, Sgt. Major Joseph Scott. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Joseph Feggans of Douglasville, GA; six children and their spouses, Randy Jerome Feggans, Cheryl Feggans McLeod, Vickie (Bernard) Johnson, Cathy (Mitchell) Parker, Stephanie (Voltair) Dunson, and Alesia (Milton )Barnes all of Douglasville, GA; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Peggy Hardawayand RET Major Charles Brooks of Loganville, GA and Valerie Hardaway Scott and (late Sgt. Major Joseph Scott) of Douglasville, Ga, and fifteen loving grandchildren; twenty three beautiful great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville, GA, Friday, July 31, 2015 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, August 1, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville, GA with Reverend Veronica Lewis of Columbus, Ga officiating, and Bishop Ben Lambert of College Park, Ga delivering the eulogy. Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Douglasville, GA. The following grandsons will serve as pallbearers: Kristopher Johnson, William âBillâ Grimes, II, Milton Barnes, II, Eric Chase Feggans, Micah Johnson, Maurice Barnes, Brian Johnson and Sharad Johnson.
