Oscar Thompson

Mr. Oscar Ray Thompson, 78, of Cumming, Georgia formerly of Douglasville passed away Friday, May 19, 2017. He was born October 17, 1938 in Bristol, Virginia, the son of the late Mr. William Joshua Thompson and the late Mrs. Laura Belle Cross Thompson. He was a veteran having served in the United States Army. He retired as a Grocery Broker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his longtime companion, Barbara Ann Pointer; four brothers and four sisters. He is survived by his daughter, Katrina Thompson of Cumming; his first wife, Norma Wilson of Cumming; brothers and a sister-in-law, Webb and Myrtle Thompson, Dal Thompson, and Con Thompson all of Bristol, VA; grandchildren, Dustin Payne, Lacie Cantrell, Mark Cantrell, and Saliha Banjanovic; three great-grandchildren, Aaliyah Payne, Macie Cantrell, and Mark Cantrell; numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville, Sunday, May 21, 2017 from 12:00 PM until 1:30 PM.
