Owen Long

Mr. Owen Jackson Long, age 85, of Douglasville, passed away April 24, 2013. He was born April 7, 1928 in Lithia Springs the son of the late Mr. Robert Ervin Long and the late Mrs. Onie Aderhold Long. He served twenty years in the United States Air Force as a Flight Engineer. Mr. Long retired from the Postal Service after twenty years of service. He was as member of Central Baptist Church in Douglasville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Ellen Daniell and Maurine Daniell; five brothers, Raymond Long, Clyde Long, Ervin Long, Walter Long, and R. E. Long, Jr.; sisters-in-law, Ethel Long, Lucy Long; and Emmie Long; brothers-in-law, Sidney Daniell and Frances Daniell. He is survived by his wife, Patsy Chandler Long; daughters and sons-in-law, Debra and Steve Turner of Powder Springs, Janet and Steve Hulderman of Tuscan, AZ, Nancy and Dan Parks of Carrollton; sons and daughters-in-law, Edwin O. Long of Dallas, TX, Clyde and Jan Long of Duluth, Russell and Barbara Mozley of Douglasville, Wayne and Sherry Mozley of Fairhope, AL; sister and brother-in-law, Mae and Buddy York of Mableton; brother and sisters-in-law, Robert B. and Ann Long of Mableton, Mary Long of Powder Springs, Margaret Long of Douglasville; thirteen grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville Friday, April 26, 2013 from 10:30 AM until 8:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, April 27, 2013 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Mike Sinyard, Dr. Marion Beavers, Rev. Dan Parks. Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
