Mrs. Patricia âPattiâ Ann McCormick Lawson, age 69, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Thursday, March 15, 2012 at her residence following a 54-year battle with cancer, having suffered five major cancers. She was born December 2, 1942 in Connellsville, Pennsylvania the daughter of the late Mr. Vane E. McCormick, Sr. and the late Mrs. Martha Jane Herwick McCormick. She was a homemaker and a devoted member of Midway United Methodist Church in Douglasville. She was currently serving as Lay Delegate for the North Georgia Conference of the United Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Earl Cleveland Lawson of Douglasville; daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Kent Kellar of Decatur; sons and daughters-in-law, Doug and Tina Lawson of Wesley Chapel, FL, Kenneth âKennyâ Lawson of Douglasville and Ethan Lawson; sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and David McJunkin of Wesley Chapel, FL; brother and sister-in-law, Vane E. McCormick, Jr. and his wife, Karen McCormick of South Carolina; 4 grandchildren, April Elizabeth Lawson, Phoebe Kellar, Madison Kellar, and Jullian Lawson; 3 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel, Saturday, March 17, 2012 from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Sunday, March 18, 2012 at 3:00 PM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Dr. Coy Hinton and Rev. Frank Boone officiating. According to her wishes, she will be cremated following the funeral service. In lieu of flowers contributions in memory of Mrs. Patti Lawson may be made to the American Cancer Society.
