Patricia Ann Wren, age 78, affectionately known as Pat, left this world on November 3, 2024. She was born April 6, 1946, in Atlanta, Georgia, to the late Mrs. Sarah Jane Henderson.
Pat was a vibrant soul who exuded warmth and kindness from a young age. For 33 years, Patricia devoted herself to the safety and well-being of schoolchildren as a bus driver. Her career spanned over 23 years in Douglasville, Georgia, followed by 10 years in Wedowee, Alabama. Throughout her years on the road, she became a beloved figure to countless children and their families. She was the kind of driver who greeted each child with a smile.
Beyond her professional life, Pat was a remarkable hostess, renowned for throwing the best family gatherings. Her gatherings were filled with laughter, joy, and a touch of her signature sass. Pat’s storytelling ability captivated her friends, family and even strangers at the grocery store. In her younger years, she showcased her athletic skills on the basketball court as basketball player #24.
Pat's interests were varied; she found tranquility in fishing, joy in cooking, and fulfillment in tending to her garden. Her knack for canning allowed her to share the fruits of her labor, both literally and figuratively, with those she loved. An adventurous spirit, Pat also enjoyed the thrill of playing at the casino and exploring new places through travel.
Most notably, Patricia took immense pride in her family. She regarded her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren as her proudest accomplishments—a testament to her love and dedication. Her home was never complete without her beloved dogs. Sugar and Fancy survive, and have brought her endless joy and companionship.
In addition to her mother, Mrs. Pat is preceded in death by her grandfather, George Howard Doby.
She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Mr. Ronald Wren; sons, Ronnie (Connie) Brown, Ronald Wren Jr., and Michael (Traci) Wren; daughters, Janissa Wren, and Roxi (Donnie) Blackstone; grandchildren, Deanna (Nick), Johnathan, Gabby (Matt), Dalton (Ashley), Nicole, Shane (Tori), Tyler (Stephanie), Nicholas, and Callie; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Walter (Jane) Reese; sister, Mittie Everett; as well as extended family and friends.
