Mr. Paul Thomas Price, Sr., age 87, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Monday, November 14, 2011 at Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton following a brief illness. He was born August 14, 1924 in Douglas County, Georgia the son of the late Mr. Joseph Robert Price and the late Mrs. Fannie Mae Arrington Price. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Douglasville, where he served as deacon. He and his brother operated Price Brothers Well Drilling and Boring, Inc. He served on the Board of Directors at Citizens and Merchants Bank and the First Commerce Bank. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Ruby Smallwood Price on January 28, 2002; his sisters, Clara Price and Jewell Camp; and brothers, William Price, Kenny Price, Guy “Shorty” Price, Hugh Edward Price and Frank Hamilton Price. He is survived by his wife Tommie Smallwood Price of Douglasville; daughter, Judy Price of Alabama; son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Phyllis Price of Douglasville; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel, Wednesday, November 16, 2011 from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Thursday, November 17, 2011 at 1:00 PM at the Friendship Baptist Church with Rev. Johnny White, Rev. Marvin Gunter and Rev. Eric Evans officiating. Mr. Price will lie instate from 12:00 noon until 1:00 PM. Interment will follow at Friendship Cemetery on Highway 166 in Winston.
