Paula Ann Lee, 76, of Douglasville, gracefully departed this world on Tuesday, November 26, 2024. She was born on March 16, 1948, the daughter of the late, Paul Earl Yonce and the late Annie Mae Collins.
A cherished educator, Paula dedicated her career to teaching in Douglas County and Carroll County, where she inspired countless students and made a lasting impact on the educational community. Later in her career, she transitioned to the role of media specialist, utilizing her skills and passion for learning to support and guide both students and fellow educators alike. Outside of her professional life, Paula embraced her love for baking, delighting family and friends with an array of breads and delicious desserts that were as heartwarming as they were delightful. Aside from her professional accomplishments, she had an unquenchable passion for traveling. She explored the world with enthusiasm, collecting experiences that enriched her life and filled her heart with joy. Additionally, Paula was an avid reader, always seeking knowledge and new adventures through the pages of her beloved books. Paula will be remembered fondly for her dedication to education, her passion for baking, and her adventurous spirit.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Burgess Thomas and her husband, Robert Lee; sister, Faye Smith.
She is survived by her children, Amy and Derrick Drake of Douglasville and Britt Thomas of Douglasville; grandson, Paul Hurtado; several nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 30, 2024 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home Douglas Chapel. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Saturday, November 30, 2024 at Jones-Wynn Douglas Chapel with Rev. Mike Powers officiating. Interment will follow at Meadowbrook Memory Gardens.
