Mr. Perry Darnell Scott, age 66, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Monday, March 29, 2010 at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta. He was born June 24, 1943 in Atlanta, Georgia the son of the late Mr. William Claude Scott, Jr. and the late Mrs. Hollie Mae DeLong Stephens. He married Reba Phillips on September 17, 1967 in Ellaville, Georgia. He served in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam. He was a devoted and loyal member of Union Grove Baptist Church in Lithia Springs. He retired from CSX Railroad as a conductor. He was devoted to the Lord, his family, friends, and church family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Ann Scott and brothers, Dan Scott and Weldon Scott. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Reba Phillips Scott of Douglasville; son and daughter-in-law, Lee and Cindie Scott of Douglasville; sisters and brothers-in-law, Janice Kraemer and Larry Henson of Lithia Springs, June and Alan Brown of Winston, and Joyce and Tommy Perry of Hiram; brothers and sisters-in-law, Warren Glenn Stephens of Cumming, Wendell Scott of Roswell, James âPorkyâ Scott of Hiram, and Wendy and Beverly Scott of Roswell; 3 granddaughters, Jordan Scott, Savannah Scott, and Courtney Scott; several special in-laws that he dearly loved; and several nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel, Tuesday, March 30, 2010 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at 11:00 AM from the Douglas Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Rev. Ken Hennesy and Dr. Louie Winstead officiating. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Mr. Scottâs CSX Railroad Coworkers. Interment will follow at Mozley Memorial Gardens in Lithia Springs. Following the interment, the family invites everyone to attend a reception in celebration of Mr. Perry Scottâs life at Union Grove Baptist Church, 6517 Union Grove Road, Lithia Springs, Georgia 30122.
