Peter Roy O'Leary

Peter Roy O'Leary, 57, of Douglasville, passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2024. He was born June 11, 1967 in Portland, ME to the late Mr. Richard R. O'Leary and Mrs. Dolores Keene O'Leary. He was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, whose presence touched the lives of those around him. 

Peter's life was marked by his dedication and passion for various sports, notably through his involvement with the Special Olympic programs, where he excelled in bowling, bocce, and powerlifting. His enthusiasm for these activities showcased not only his competitive spirit but also his commitment to fostering inclusivity and community engagement.

Peter proudly served in the United States Army from 1987 to 1990, an experience that shaped his character and values. His time in the military instilled in him a strong sense of duty and pride, which he carried throughout his life.

He is survived by his devoted mother, Dolores Keene O'Leary; his siblings, Kate Wright and John O'Leary; and his cherished nieces, Renee Wright and Victoria Logan, as well as his nephew, William O'Leary. Each of them held a special place in his heart, and he will be deeply missed by his family.

Peter was preceded in death by his father, Richard R. O'Leary. 

As his family remembers him, they will carry forward the love and memories shared, cherishing the indelible mark he left on their lives. Peter Roy O'Leary will be remembered for his warmth, determination, and the love he shared with all who knew him. 

In accordance with Mr. O'Leary’s wishes, he will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at St. Theresa Catholic Church, Douglasville, GA on Friday, January 31, 2025 at 11:00 AM.
