Philip Matson Miller, Sr.

May 2, 1930 — April 13, 2020

Mr. Philip Matson Miller, Sr., age 89, of Villa Rica, passed away Monday, April 13, 2020. He was born May 2, 1930 in Emory, GA the son of the late Mr. Robert Bunyan Miller and the late Mrs. Nona Cantrell Miller. Mr. Miller served in the United States Air Force. He worked and retired from Western Electric. He enjoyed fishing and being outdoors. He was a chicken farmer and a horseman. He was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Villa Rica, where he served as a deacon. He was also a member of Unity Sunday School Class, and sang in the church Celebration Choir. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Ruth Kidwell Miller; brothers, Robert Bunyan Miller, Jr. and John James Miller. He is survived by his daughter, Melinda Miller Jones of Duluth; sons and daughters-in-law, Mat and Elaine Miller, Jr. of Villa Rica, Myron and Cathy Miller of Carrollton; five grandchildren, Sonny and Karina Miller, Jason and Brittany Miller, Michael and Amanda Miller, Nona Jones, Brad and Lisa; ten great-grandchildren, Cole, Addison, Riley, Isabella, Sophia, Katlyn, Wyatt, Alex, Laci and Ashley; several nieces and nephews. We are still providing services to our families based on CDC Covid-19 guidelines. Private Graveside services will be conducted with Dr. Kevin Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Meadowbrook Memory Gardens in Villa Rica. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family at www.jones-wynn.com.
