Phyllis Walters Gordon

Phyllis Walters Gordon, 79, of Villa Rica, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 14, 2026. She was born on June 29, 1947, the daughter of the late John Clinton Walters and Laura Kay Kilgore Walters.

Her journey through life was marked by hard work, unwavering strength, and a deep devotion to those she loved. Throughout the years, Phyllis dedicated herself to her work as a waitress, spending many years serving others and building friendships at the Waffle House. Outside of her career, Phyllis was a woman of varied interests. She found great joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as reading—especially her Bible—and cooking for her family during the holidays. These traditions brought loved ones together. Phyllis loved swimming and being in and around water.

Above all, Phyllis will be remembered for her strength, hard work, and the endless love she had for her family and grandchildren. She was the heart of many family gatherings, nurturing her loved ones and she always offered her support.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Gerald Thomas Gordon; brothers, Larry Walters, David Walters, Steve Walters; sister, Ronda O’Leary.

She is survived by her children, Robin Jackson of St. Augustine, Florida, Elgerie Jackson of Georgia and John Jackson, Jr. of Villa Rica; brother, Kenny Walters of Douglasville; eleven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews

The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 23, 2026 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home Villa Rica Chapel. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, July 24, 2026 at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Mozley Memorial Gardens.

Phyllis Walters Gordon’s memory will be treasured, and her presence deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
