Mrs. Phyllis Perkins French, age 61, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Friday, January 9, 2009. She was born September 8, 1947 in Birmingham, Alabama the daughter of Mrs. Faye McCollum Britton and the late Mr. Phillip N. Perkins. She attended West Metro Church of God and was a teacher at Douglas County High School for the past nine years. In addition to her father she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Milton French, III on February 19, 2007. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Heather and Chris Daniel of Douglasville and Holly and Jay Smith of Douglasville; her mother, Faye McCollum Britton of Pleasant Grove, AL; sisters and brother-in-laws, Catherine Perkins Pate and Rickey Pate of Douglasville, GA and Donna Perkins Wylie and Marc Wylie of Duvall, WA; brothers and sister-in-laws, Curtis and Tracy Perkins of Helena, AL, Stephen and Karen Perkins of Melbourne, FL, Neal Perkins of Orlando, FL and Kevin and Sue Perkins of Hopkinton, MA; the greatest grandson in the world, Jace Smith of Douglasville; her stepmother, Kim Perkins of Orlando, FL; mother-in-law, Betty French of Marietta; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Russell and Janis McMahan; 15 nieces and nephews; 6 grand nieces and grand nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted Sunday, January 11, 2009 at 4:00 PM from the Douglas Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Rev. Ikey Watson officiating. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel, Saturday, January 10, 2009 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers contributions in memory of Mrs. French may be made to the 3-Day Breast Cancer Walk for Holly Smith or Cathie Pate.
