Phyllis Rogers

Mrs. Phyllis Raye Touchton Rogers, 79, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Monday, February 26, 2018. She was born April 3, 1938 in Clearwater, Florida, the daughter of the late Mr. Ray Touchton and the late Mrs. Bertha Skeen Mercer. She married Glynn H. Rogers on August 3, 1956 in Clearwater, Florida. Devoted to family, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a homemaker and later worked in furniture sales for Heilig-Myers Furniture. She served as PTA President and a 4H Leader. Her role of grandmother was very important to her and she loved spending time with the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of Praise Tabernacle. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Glynn H. Rogers on January 24, 2011; and a brother, Clark Mercer. She is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, Mark Ray and Karen Rogers of Inverness, FL, Byron Curtis and Cindy Rogers of Weatherford, TX, Phillip Glynn Rogers of Dallas, GA, and Randy Lee and Kelley Rogers of Douglasville, GA; two sisters, Carol Corbin of Inverness, FL and Joann Hunt of Clearwater, FL; seven grandchildren and their spouses, Justin and Dana Rogers of Dallas, Dustin and Laura Rogers of Douglasville, Derek and Stephanie Rogers of Powder Springs, Blake Rogers of Tampa, FL, Jerrett Rogers of Inverness, FL, Danielle and Ellis Astin of Villa Rica, and Falon Rogers of Crystal River, FL; nine great-grandchildren; two aunts, Betty Smith and Estelle Skeen both of Clearwater, FL; several cousins, nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville, Friday, March 2, 2018 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 1:00 PM at the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Dr. Tommy Chapman officiating.
