Mr. Raiford “Arnold” Reid, age 71, of Douglasville, passed away, Wednesday, August 26, 2015. He was born October 14, 1943 in Griffin the son of the late Mr. Benny Adams Reid and the late Mrs. Annie Corene Jarrett Reid. Mr. Reid served in the United States Army. He loved Elvis and was an avid Braves fan and Georgia Tech fan. He loved his little Yorkie, Scooby, most. Mr. Reid was a member of Central Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Tina Michelle Reid Cummings; brothers, Bobby Reid and infant brother; sister, Betty Lynch. He is survived by his wife, Sybil Cooper Reid of Douglasville; daughter and son-in-law, Kym and Sid Deerman of Temple; three grandchildren, Whitnee and her husband, Johny Muse; Kaitlyn Cummings, and Madison Cummings; great-grandchildren, Ayden Handley, Alyssa Handley and Easton Muse; sister-in-law, Betty Reid of Griffin; several nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville, Saturday, August 29, 2015 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Sunday, August 30, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Central Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Gibbs and Rev. Steve McFall officiating. Mr. Reid will lie in state from 1:00 PM until funeral hour. Interment will follow at Central Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors.
