Ralph Leon Smallwood

Ralph Leon “R.L.” Smallwood, 84, of Villa Rica, passed away on Wednesday, January 15, 2025. He was born on March 27, 1940, the son of the late William Grady Smallwood and the late Elva Fray Ellis Smallwood.

Throughout his life, he dedicated himself to the principles of family and faith. In addition to his devotion to family, R.L. had an unwavering commitment to his church and church family. His hobbies included reading his Bible and playing games with his family. 

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Ann Webb Smallwood; brother, Robert Smallwood; sisters, Hazel Smallwood, Dorothy Smallwood and Virginia Hamby.

He is survived by his children, Carmon (Kenneth) Toole of Villa Rica, Kevin (Claudine) Smallwood of Ranburne, Alabama, Kenneth (Angie) Smallwood of Dallas, Georgia, and Roy (Marissa) Accord of Melburne, Florida; brother, Wayne (Cherrie) Smallwood of Lithia Springs; six grandchildren, Brittany (Cristian) Santana, Laken Walls, Byron (Kaitlyn) Smallwood, Austin Toole, Destiney Smallwood, Ryan Smallwood; great-grandchildren, Noah, Valerie, Garrett, Logan, Brilyn, Riley and Zayne; best friend, Steve Elliott of Dallas, Georgia; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 19, 2025 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home Villa Rica Chapel. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, January 20, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Jones-Wynn Villa Rica Chapel with Rev. Marcelle Jiles and Rev. Jason Merrell officiating. Interment will follow at Melrose Hills Memorial Park.
