Ray pursued his entrepreneurial spirit by opening a hot wing restaurant that became a beloved local spot in Douglasville and later, Lithia Springs. His food and friendly presence left a lasting impression on the community he served.
Ray was a man of many passions. He found great joy in fishing – especially for catfish – and spent countless peaceful hours by the water. He also had an enduring love for classic automobiles, often admiring their craftsmanship and timeless beauty.

He is survived by his daughter, Nicole Fortner and spouse Erica; son Cody Lilly; stepdaughter Shan Baker and her spouse Ed; and stepson Mike Bragg and his spouse Melissa. His legacy continues through his grandchildren Ashlyn Singley (spouse Braxton), Alex Baker, Emma Bragg, Madelyn Bragg; and great-grandson Maverick Singley.

A man of faith, Ray was a Christian who attended services at The Birches assisted living facility in Villa Rica during the last year of his life. He also had a strong relationship with Terry Marbut, Pastor of Liberty Baptist Church in Douglasville.
Ray never met a stranger! His booming personality lit up every room he entered – he loved to tell jokes and bring laughter to those around him.
