Rebecca Ann Hawthorne

Rebecca Ann Hawthorne, 68, of Villa Rica, passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2023. She was born on October 29, 1955. She is the daughter of the late John Henry Hurst and the late Sviller Bowen Hurst.

Rebecca was a cherished member of the West Georgia Worship Center, where her faith in God shone brightly. She dedicated herself to spreading His message of love and kindness throughout her community. Rebecca’s passion for service, led her on mission trips to Honduras and Haiti. Her willingness to lend a helping hand manifested in her involvement with the Samaritan's Purse Ministry. She enjoyed mentoring to young children.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Charles “CW” William Hawthorne; brothers, Ronald Norris and James Henry Hurst.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ralph and Michele Hawthorne of Auburn, GA; grandchildren, Joshua Hawthorne, Ashley Hawthorne, Emily Hawthorne, Chandler Crawford, Brooke Hawthorne, and Chase Hawthorne; two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 28, 2023, from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM at the Jones-Wynn Funeral Home Douglas Chapel. 

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, December 28, 2023, at 2:00 PM at the Jones-Wynn Funeral Home Douglas Chapel. 

Interment will follow.
