Retha Pepper Jackson

Mrs. Retha Pepper Jackson, age 85, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Saturday, September 9, 2006 at Wellstar Douglas Hospital. She was born March 25, 1921 in Cleveland, Georgia, the daughter of the late Mr. Jesse Pepper and Mrs. Maggie Veal Pepper. She married Claude Victor Jackson on January 7, 1938. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Douglasville, Georgia and the Eastern Star. Mrs. Jackson was a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Victor Jackson, Sr., her son, Norman C. Jackson and her grandson, Jonathan Brent Jackson. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Claude Jackson, Jr. and his wife, Charzette Jackson of Jamestown, North Carolina and Ralph E. and Melinda Jackson of Douglasville and Sandra Castillo-Jackson of Shawnee, KS; her sister, Rosemon Ellison of Las Vegas; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Herbert and Pat Pepper of Lake City, Florida and Henry and Lyndie Pepper of Marietta; 16 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted Tuesday, September 12, 2006 at 1:00 PM from Liberty Baptist Church on Burnt Hickory Road in Douglasville, Georgia with Rev. Terry Marbut officiating. Interment will follow in Douglasville City Cemetery. The following will serve as pallbearers: Kirk Gable, Kyle Gable, Klint Gable, Rome Smith, Chris Jackson, and Kevin Jackson. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel on Monday, September 11, 2006 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Those desiring to do so may make donations In Memory of Mrs. Retha Pepper Jackson to the J. Brent Jackson Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o Jamestown United Methodist Church, 403 East Main Street, Jamestown, North Carolina 27282 or to their favorite charity. Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel in charge of arrangements.
