Rev. Clarence Andrew Agan, of Temple, Georgia was called home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 25, 2008 at his residence. Rev. Agan was born June 23, 1933 in Haralson County, Georgia; the son of the late W.F. Agan and the late Willie Gallamore Agan. Rev. Agan was a retired cabinet builder and member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. In 1952, he was called to preach as a gospel minister. On March 24, 1957 he was ordained by New Brooklyn Baptist Church in Temple. Throughout the years he pastored several churches including, Yellow Dirt Baptist Church in Heard County, Riverside Baptist Church in Centralhatchee, Pine Grove Baptist Church in Tallapoosa, and Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Temple. He was also a veteran of the United States Army, where he served during the Korean conflict. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Rilla Loraine Agan; sisters, Thelma Ezell, and Vernell Agan; and brothers, Artis and Earnest Agan. Survivors include his daughter and son in-law, Wanda and Dr. Corky Addison of Bremen; son and daughter in-law, Dennis and Melinda Agan of Villa Rica; brothers, Arlie Agan and Delcer Agan, both of Temple; three grandchildren, Amy and Bruce Bearden of Carrollton, Holly Agan of Villa Rica, and Hillary Agan, also of Villa Rica; two great grandchildren, Alex Bearden and Jack Bearden, both of Carrollton; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted Thursday, February 28, 2008 at 2:00 PM from Mt. Carmel Baptist Church with Brother Keith Arp, Dr. Corky Addison and Brother Wendell Rush officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Ricky Agan, Ronald Agan, Jerry Agan, Billy Agan, Edward Agan, James Agan, Danny Agan, and David Agan. Interment will follow at New Brooklyn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica on Tuesday, February 26, 2008 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM and Wednesday, February 27, 2008 from 9:00 AM until 9:00 PM with the family present from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
