Brother James Olin Weaver, of Mulberry Rock Road, Dallas, Georgia passed away after an extended illness Thursday, April 13, 2006 at his residence. He was born March 12, 1931, in Canton, Georgia. He was the son of the late George Weaver and the late Ollie Brown Weaver. Rev. Weaver was called into the ministry when he was 31 years old. He pastured five local churches, New Brooklyn Baptist Church, Bethel Baptist Church, Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Liberty Baptist and Concord Baptist Church. He was presented at his ordination as one like Elijah, who not only knew God, but also knew about God, and walked with God. Rev. Weaver was a veteran of the United States Army having served in Germany. In addition to his parents, Rev. Weaver was preceded in death by his daughter, Bonnie Weaver Buchanan; brothers, Randall Weaver of Marietta, Amos Weaver of Canton, Carl Weaver of Canton and Walter Weaver of Atlanta; and his sister, Myrtle Weaver Wells of Columbia, South Carolina. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Shirley Maxine Sprayberry Weaver of Dallas; daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Steve Pullen of Carrollton, Kathy and Jimmy Hannah of Temple and Thomas Dickie Buchanan of Temple; son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Barbara Nell Weaver of Villa Rica; sisters, Lee Hobgood of Smyrna and Lola Tanner of Smyrna; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, April 15, 2006 at 5:00 PM from Concord Baptist Church in Temple, Georgia with Brother Hoyt Lewis and Brother Don Rackley officiating. Pallbearers will be Jeremy Pullen, Nick Pullen, Harold Davis, Ronald Oldham, Brian Buchanan and Dickie Buchanan. Honorary Pallbearers will be Roger Chapel, Jimmy Smith, Curtis Garner, Curt Garner, Terry Sprayberry, Tommy Sprayberry, Tony Scarbrough, Mark McCravy, Watson Buchanan, Larry Winters, Preston Perren, Harold Parr, Arlon Sprayberry and Tony Weaver. Interment will follow at Concord Baptist Church Cemetery in Temple, Georgia with Brother Lee Smollar officiating. The family will be receiving friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica, Friday, April 14, 2006 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and Saturday, April 15, 2006 from 1:00 PM until 4:30 PM.
