Rev. Jay Leonard Bice, age 68, of Villa Rica, Georgia passed away Wednesday, July 15, 2009 at his residence. He was born April 24, 1941 in Villa Rica, Georgia, the son of the late Mr. William C. Bice and the late Mrs. Opal Ester Lee Bice. Rev. Bice was a member of Happy Valley Baptist Church in Villa Rica. He was baptized by Rev. Charles Williams and was ordained as a minister in 1973 at White Oak Springs Baptist Church. During his pastorate, he served at the following churches Callie Harbin Baptist Church in Villa Rica, Second Baptist Church of Boaz, Alabama, Victory Baptist Church in Dallas, and Antioch Baptist Church in Whitesburg. He was also co-owner and operator of B&G Signs. Rev. Bice was a dedicated father and grandfather, a loving husband, a true Christian in every sense with a passion for preaching. In addition to his parents, Rev. Bice was preceded in death by his sister, Billie Lee Bice Norton and his brother, Lawrence Edward âEddieâ Bice. Survivors include his wife of over 42 years, Mrs. Marvene Farr Bice of Villa Rica; his daughters and son-in-law, Christie Deanne Cochran and her husband, Cooper of Villa Rica and Shara Elizabeth Mayes of Villa Rica; his son, Jonathan Jason Bice and his fiancé, Jenifer of Dallas; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Nancy and Bud Bullock of Dallas, Barbara and Johnny Cook of Powder Springs and Jean and Jerry Seals of Villa Rica; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles and Malinda Bice of Villa Rica and Rickey and Denise Bice of Hiram; five grandchildren, Breanna, Madison, J. Riley, Cate and Blaise; and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, July 18, 2009 at 10:00AM from the Happy Valley Baptist Church in Villa Rica with Revs. Charles Williams, Eddie Wyatt and Jerry Hollis officiating. Interment will follow in Melrose Hills Memorial Park in Paulding County, Georgia.
