Rev. Walter Dean Green, age 86 of Woodstock, Georgia passed away Thursday, August 5, 2021. He was born October 29, 1934 in Crossville, Tennessee, the son of the late Mr. Johny Rodgers Green and the late Mrs. Loie Elizabeth Bryant Green. Rev. Green retired from the United States Navy, having served for almost 20 years. He was a minister and loved watching and listening to gospel music on Sunday. Rev. Green loved jigsaw puzzles and raising birds, such as parakeets, quail and cockatiels.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Edna Bernice Brannon Green; his brothers, Clarence Green and J.C. Green; and his sisters, Ruth Manis, Wanda Atkins and Patsy West.
Rev. Green is survived by his daughter, Debra Satterfield of Douglasville; his son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Faye Green of Woodstock; his sister and brother-in-law, Brenda and Bob Grant of Crossville, Tennessee; five grandchildren, Allen (JoEllen) Woodall, Brandi Waggoner, Patrick (Crystal) Satterfield, Brandon (Kim) Green and Nicole Satterfield; 17 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Villa Rica, Monday, August 9, 2021 from 5:00PM until 8:00PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at 1:00PM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Villa Rica with Brother Jackie Hart officiating. Interment with full military honors provided by the United States Navy Honor Guard will follow at Meadowbrook Memory Gardens on Hickory Level Road in Villa Rica, Georgia.
