Rex Tackett

Mr. Rex Tackett, 61, of Temple, Georgia passed away Sunday, November 9, 2014 at his residence. He was born March 8, 1953 in Pikeville, Kentucky, the son of the late Mr. Wilbur Lee Tackett and the late Mrs. Maxie Newsome Tackett. He was employed at Apac Construction as a heavy equipment operator. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his children, Curtis Dwayne Tackett, Richard Joseph Brown and Michael Allen Brown; brothers, Frank Tackett and John Tackett; and sisters, Carol Bennett, Jeweldine Lester, Genevieve Hall, and Lorene Tackett. He is survived by his wife, Vickie Ann Hatley Tackett of Temple; one son, Rex Tackett, Jr. of Temple; sisters, Barbara Johnson of Kentucky and Alfie Stroud of Rocky Mount, NC; brothers, Bert Tackett of Hillsborough, NC, and Carl Tackett of Pittsboro, NC; five grandchildren, Laney Tackett of Villa Rica, Kelley Tackett of Temple, Tinsley Brown of Douglasville, Michael Brown of Temple, and Devon Brown; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica, Saturday, November 15, 2014 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Sunday, November 16, 2014 at 1:00 PM at the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica with Rev. Tim Stephens officiating.
