Richard Allen

Mr. Richard Noel Allen, age 73, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta. He was born April 27, 1943 in Wellington, Kansas the son of the late Mr. Noel Allen and the late Mrs. Olive Brown Allen. He worked more than 40 years in the plastic molding industry in Indiana, Missouri and Atlanta. He volunteered at Wellstar Douglas Hospital. Mr. Allen loved the outdoors, he enjoyed animals in nature, bird watching, grilling out and doing yard work. He loved the mountains. He was a veteran having served in the Army Reserves. He was of the Presbyterian Faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Scot Allen. He is survived by his wife, Glenda Wade Allen of Douglasville; daughter and son-in-law, Erin and Rob Malloy of Bradenton, FL; sister, Katherine Allen of Missouri; three brothers and a sister-in-law, Roger and Theresa Allen of California, Jerry Allen of Louisiana, and Thom Allen of Minnesota; two grandchildren, Christian Pugh of New Hampshire and Maggie Malloy of Florida; one great-grandchild, Audrey Pugh; one niece and two nephews. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville, Thursday, June 2, 2016 from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM. Memorial Services will be conducted Thursday, June 2, 2016 at 1:00 PM at the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville. Messages of condolence to the family may be sent at www.jones-wynn.com.
