Richard Paxton Moss

Richard “Dick” Paxton Moss, age 84, passed away Thursday, May 11, 2023. He was born March 10, 1939 in Amityville, NY. He is the son of the late Mr. William Paxton Moss and the late Mrs. Carolyn Denton VanNostrand. He was a 50 year member of Lithia Springs United Methodist Church. Mr. Moss enjoyed being outdoors; some of his favorite activities were boating, water and snow skiing and running. He officiated track and field events locally and in the Olympics. He was a dedicated meteorologist for Delta Airlines for many years.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 57 years Mrs. Cathy Moss.

He is survived by his daughter, Amy (Chris) Bennett of Douglasville; two grandsons, Andrew and Will.

According to Mr. Moss’s wishes he was cremated. A private service will take place at Georgia National Cemetery at a later date.
