Richard "Rick" Don McKinnon

Richard Don McKinnon, 71, of Dallas, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2026. He was born on December 6, 1954, the son of the late Clyde T. McKinnon and the late Hazel Stroope McKinnon.

Rick loved his family dearly. He was a proud graduate of Louisiana Tech University. His passion for music found its roots during his college years when he worked as the main DJ at KLPI. His taste in music reflected his lively spirit. Whether it was a classic rock tune or the latest pop sensation, Rick always found joy listening to music.

In addition to his love for music, Rick loved his cats, dog and Sci-Fi movies.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas McKinnon; sister, Brenda Gould.

He is survived by his wife, Theresa McKinnon; daughter, Hannah McKinnon of Dallas; son, Christopher McKinnon of Arkansas; nieces, nephews, and numerous in-laws.

In accordance with his wishes, he was cremated. The family will celebrate him privately.
