Richard Allen Walker

Richard Allen Walker, 83, of Douglasville, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, July 9, 2023. He was born on August 10, 1939. He is the son of the late Richard Frank Walker and the late Janie Masters Walker.

Richard enjoyed woodworking and singing. He played in the Deltones and Carrolltones when he was in college. He also sang in Sons of Jubal, which is a Baptist men’s group. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Villa Rica. Richard was family oriented. He was always the person to plan the family gatherings.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Walker is preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Pollard.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Judith Ione Jackson Walker; daughters, Gwen (Randy) Gravett of Douglasville, Georgia, Leigh-Ann Hamilton of Pennsylvania; son, Scott (Bonnie) Meadows of Douglasville, Georgia; sisters, Joyce Pullen of Carrollton, Linda (Jack) Evers of Kennesaw, Georgia, Frankie Maffei of Tampa, Florida; grandchildren, Emily Arzate and Jacob Gravett; several nieces and nephews.

In accordance with his wishes, Mr. Walker was cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
