Richard Harvey Wright, Sr.

Richard Harvey Wright, Sr., 77, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on Monday, December 23, 2024. He was born on March 25, 1947, the son of the late Lawrence Andrew Wright and the late Annie Lillian Everidge Wright.

Richard lived a life filled with love and he was a devoted family man who found joy in spending quality time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also held great pride in his Confederate heritage. His presence will be sorely missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Wright.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon Johnson Wright, children, Lynn and Allen Walker, Ricky and Sharon Wright, and Becky and Randall Smith all of Villa Rica; brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Shelia Wright of Douglasville; ten grandchildren, Brandie Hudgins, Brittany and Bobby Vickery, Kristin and Jacob Patterson, Marcy Walker, Amber Walker, Luke Humphries, Dylan Humphries and Trey Wright all of Villa Rica; eleven great-grandchildren, Lyriq Hudgins, Brody Vickery, Lilly Vickery, Gavin Patterson, Madi Simpson, Hunter Simpson, Jase Walker, Emma Walker, Dallas Humphries, Connor Humphries and Hayes Humphries; numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Friday, December 27, 2024 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home Villa Rica Chapel. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, December 28, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Jones-Wynn Villa Rica Chapel. Interment will follow at Meadowbrook Memory Gardens.
