Robert "Bob" Lee Rhodes

Robert “Bob” Lee Rhodes, 89, of Villa Rica, passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2024. He was born on April 20, 1935, the son of the late James Luther Rhodes and the late Lelia Belle Hicks Rhodes.

Bob was the last and youngest of the Rhodes' boys from Westminster, SC. Family and friends were at the core of Bob's life. He took great pleasure in entertaining family and friends, particularly during the Christmas season where he created lasting memories filled with laughter and joy. 

Over the span of more than fifty years, Bob owned and operated the Rhodes Insurance Agency, exemplifying dedication and commitment to his career. His work was not just a profession it was a testament to his unyielding spirit and unwavering ethics, earning him the respect and admiration of clients and colleagues alike.

Beyond his professional life, Bob was deeply involved in his Fairfield Plantation community and was a proud member of the Fairfield American Legion 338. He was a member of the Shriners. Bob was also a US Navy Veteran, having served his country with honor. While he may no longer be with us, Robert "Bob" Lee Rhodes will be cherished and remembered fondly for his contributions to his family, community, and the many lives he touched during his remarkable journey here on earth.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his grandson, Robert “Robbie” Maner and grand-daughter, Tia Hartness.

He is survived by his wife of sixty-six years, Brenda Wooster Rhodes; children, Michael (Norma) Rhodes of Blue Ridge, Tammy (Billy) Priest of Villa Rica, Sherrie Hartness and David Gladen of Villa Rica, Terrie (Gilbert) McDaniel of Kennesaw, and; grandchildren, Brandon Hartness of Cartersville, Tiffany (Bronson) Sargent of Villa Rica, Melissa (Matt) Carrier of Acworth, Stephanie (Adam) Alexander of Kennesaw, and Sara (Jon) Gordon of Signal Mountain, TN; ten great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 22, 2024 at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home Villa Rica Chapel from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM.

Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, September 22, 2024 at 1:00 PM from the Villa Rica Chapel at Jones-Wynn with Mr. Don Conner officiating. Special remarks will be provided by Mr. Billy Priest, Mr. Gilbert McDaniel and Mr. Mike Tovey. A special reception to celebrate Bob’s life will follow at The Fairfield Plantation Clubhouse from 2:30 PM until 4:30 PM.
