Robert "Bobby" L. Matthews

Mr. Robert Lewis “Bobby” Matthews, age 73, of Villa Rica, Georgia passed away January 18, 2009 following an extended illness. A native of Carroll County, he was born December 29, 1935 the son of the late R.H. “Ray” Matthews and the late Mrs. Rozzie Lee Redding Matthews. He owned and operated Vince Hosiery Mill. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Larry Matthews and sister-in-law, Sue Matthews. He is survived by his daughters and son-in-law, Alisa and Jerry Doyal of Villa Rica; and Teresa Smith of Villa Rica; son, Vince Matthews of Dallas; sister, Kathy Matthews of Villa Rica; brother, Jimmy Matthews of Dallas; seven grandchildren, Allison Doyal of Villa Rica, April Doyal of Villa Rica, Shelly Eaves of Douglasville, Justin Eaves of Temple, Meghan Matthews of Temple, Myles Matthews of Temple, and Meredith Harris of Temple; two great-grandchildren, Ayden Harris of Temple and Cameron Wortham of Douglasville; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Rev. Eddie Allen officiating and Judge Aubury Duffey and Ms. Sarah Morton giving the eulogies. Musical selections will be rendered by Rev. Ben Pilgreen. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Villa Rica. The following will serve as pallbearers: Aubrey Duffey, Terry Sauls, Mike Redding, Jerry Doyal, Shane Matthews, and Allen Eaves. Associates from Vince Hosiery Mill will serve as honorary escort. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica, Tuesday, January 20, 2009 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
