Robert Dale Camburn

Robert "Bob" Dale Camburn age 74 passed away Friday, December 13, 2019 in Austell, Georgia. He was born July 18, 1945 in Plainwell, Michigan, the son of the late B. Harmon Camburn and the late Gertrude (Stephens) Camburn. Bob is a graduate of Stockbridge (Michigan) High School, attended Western Michigan University where he played freshman baseball, and attend Jackson Community College. Bob was under contract with the Detroit Baseball Club (the Tigers) from 1964 – 1967 and played baseball in Jamestown, NY; Duluth, MN; and Statesville, NC. He retired from the United States Postal Service in Kalamazoo/Portage Michigan in 2000 after 31 years of service. In retirement, he enjoyed golfing and attending his grandsons sporting and musical activities. In addition to his parents, Bob is preceded in death by brothers, Marvin and Donald Camburn. Mr. Camburn is survived by his wife of 53 years, Janet (Mead) Camburn; daughters Mary Elizabeth Camburn and Joanne Camburn (Kenneth) Spicer; grandsons Christopher Michael (Jamie) Spicer and Samuel Robert Spicer; brother William (Katherine) Camburn; sister Patricia (Robert) Zick; sister-in-law Joyce Camburn; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial Mass will be conducted Thursday, December 19 at 10:00 AM at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Lithia Springs, Georgia. In lieu of flowers, those desiring to do so may make contributions In Memory of Robert Camburn to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 1920 Skyview Drive Lithia Springs, Georgia 30122 or the Milwood Little League, P.O.
