Robert Francis Lang

Mr. Robert Francis Lang, age 72, of Villa Rica, passed away Wednesday, August 28, 2024. He was born June 28, 1952 in Secaucus, NJ to the late Mr. Frank Lang and the late Mrs. Dorothy Berckes.

Robert had an extensive and distinguished career in law enforcement, which included notable roles with the FBI. He proudly served at the 1996 Olympics held at the Georgia Tech Campus, contributing to the safety and security of a vibrant moment in history. His work in these demanding environments showcased not only his professional abilities but also his unwavering commitment to justice and public service. Beyond his law enforcement career, Robert was also a cherished softball coach, sharing his love for the game with countless young athletes. Robert was a man of diverse interests and talents. He was an avid collector of trains and guns, passions that displayed his appreciation for craftsmanship and history. His dedication to bodybuilding saw him working closely with well-known figures in the fitness world, including Lou Ferigno. A man of good humor, Robert brought laughter and joy to those around him. His musical talents, particularly playing the guitar and banjo, showcased another side of his creative expression, providing entertainment and warmth to family and friends alike.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother Andrew Maiorino.

He is survived by his loving wife of forty-five years, Mrs. Kathleen Boyle Lang of Villa Rica; daughter, Tara (Clinton) O'Brien of Marietta; son, Robert "Bobby” (Kathryn Clare) Lang of Marietta; grandchildren, Robert James "RJ", McKenna, and Jameson; and mother in law, Jacqueline Moynihan.

The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica on Saturday, September 14, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. The memorial service will follow at 2:00 PM.
