Robert Lyons

Mr. Robert Dee Lyons, “Mr. Bob”, of Holmes Road, Carrollton, passed away late Saturday, August 3, 2013 at the age of 68. He was the youngest son of the late Mr. Ira Neal Lyons and the late Mrs. Mary Alice Beatty Lyons of Nampa, ID. He was born on December 27, 1944 in Lincoln, Nebraska and has been a native of Georgia for 30 years. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his nephew, Denny Lou O’Brien and daughter-in-law, Mellissa Gale Lyons. He is survived by his eldest daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Thomas Henson and their daughter Brittany Henson of Ohatchee, AL; daughter and son-in-law, Wendy and Russel Henson and their children, Russel, Ashley and Joshua Henson of Alexander, AL; daughter and son-in-law, Diane and David Kirk of Carrollton and their children, Steven Lyons of Carrollton, Michelle and Christian Howell of Bainbridge, Davion, Pearce, and Tanesha Kirk of Bowden; daughter and son-in-law, Shenia and Reaco Wadley and their children, Zoey and Calvin Wadley of Carrollton, son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Brandie Lyons and their children, Jacob, Kailey, Tracy and Layla Lyons of Dallas; daughter, Robin Lyons and her daughter, Cheyenne Lyons of Tacoma, WA, Patience and Ignacio Sontay- Lyons and their children, Rosa and Mary of Carrollton. Robert was also survived by his eldest brother Don and his wife Susan Lyons and younger sister Karen and her husband, Dennis O’Brien of Nampa, ID. He leaves behind six great grandchildren and four of his very special friends, Jenny Little, Ruth and Randy Holloway and Robert Franklin. Memorial Services will be conducted Thursday, August 8, 2013 at 11:00 AM from Happy Valley Baptist Church in Villa Rica. Messages of condolences may be sent to the family at www.jones-wynn.com.
