Robert “Bob” Minor 74, of Villa Rica, passed away on Monday, December 9, 2024. He was born on March 22, 1950, the son of the late Thomas Woodrow Minor and the late Doris Graybeal Minor.

Throughout his life, he was known for his generosity and unwavering support for those around him. He was a caring individual and a devoted team player. He recently celebrated an extraordinary milestone of fifty-three years of marriage to his wife Sandy. Bob was immensely proud of his role as a husband, father, and grandfather. He wholeheartedly dedicated himself to their happiness and success. He was affectionately known as the “ultimate dance dad.”

He was a member of Villa Rica First United Methodist Church. His faith extended beyond the walls of his church and family. He enjoyed a variety of sports, was an avid golfer, and rallied around college sports, specifically the University of Kentucky. Bob had a profound appreciation for the arts and theater. His adventurous side was reflected in his love for travel, and amusement parks especially roller coasters. Bob's travels spanned across the globe, encompassing trips to Europe, Hawaii, Las Vegas, New York, and Los Angeles, to name a few all the while creating cherished memories along the way.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Bernie Minor.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sandy; daughters and sons-in-law, Kristy and Jared VanAlstyne of Brooklyn, New York, Kelly and Nathan Bell of Villa Rica, GA; sisters and brother-in-law, Donna Smith-McBride and Mary Jane Minor both of Louisville, KY, Trish and Doug Crump of Pittsburg, PA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Tommy and Norene Minor of Lanesville, IN and Steve Minor of Louisville, KY; sisters-in-law, Kathy Minor wife of deceased brother Bernie and Gail Cowell both of Louisville, KY; three grandchildren, Grace VanAlstyne, Lucy VanAlstyne, and Eliza Bell; special niece Lara Wainscott of Dallas, GA, daughter of deceased brother-in-law, Larry Wainscott; plus a cherished number of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 18, 2024 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and on Thursday, December 19, 2024 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home Villa Rica Chapel. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, December 19, 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Villa Rica Chapel at Jones-Wynn.

Expressions of sympathy and condolences can be made by donation to the City of Hope Cancer Center in Newnan, in memory of Bob Minor.
