Mr. Robert Parker âBobâ LeCroy, age 73, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Tuesday, September 28, 2010. He was born February 3, 1937 in Commerce, Georgia, the son of the late Mr. Clarence P. LeCroy and the late Mrs. Blanche Mae Sailors LeCroy. He and Jean Tolbert had their first date at Piedmont Park in Atlanta. They married on April 23, 1966 in Atlanta. He was a veteran having served in the National Guard. He retired from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution after 44 years of devoted service where he worked as a mail clerk and classified account executive. He was a regular customer at the Waffle House and Martinâs Restaurant. He was an avid reader and enjoyed studying history. Mr. LeCroy also enjoyed working in his yard. He was a devoted family man and loved spending time with his granddaughters who lovingly called him âPoppaâ. He was a member of Trinity Chapel Church of God. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Mrs. Jean Tolbert LeCroy of Douglasville; daughters and son-in-law, Jennifer Deanne LeCroy of Douglasville and Amy Suzanne LeCroy Nichols and her husband, Chris Nichols of Marietta; brother and sister-in-law, Steve T. and Becky LeCroy of Toccoa; two granddaughters, Makayla Suzanne Nichols and Abigail Faith Nichols; nieces and nephews, Brad LeCroy, Bill LeCroy, Cassie LeCroy, Emma LeCroy, Nicholas LeCroy, and Carson LeCroy. Funeral Services will be conducted Friday, October 1, 2010 at 11:00 AM from the Douglas Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Pastor Jason Bolin and Pastor Jim Bolin officiating. Interment will follow at Westview Cemetery in Atlanta. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel, Thursday, September 30, 2010 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
