Robert Paul Free

Paul Free Mr. Robert Paul Free, age 81, passed away Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at his residence in Villa Rica, GA. He was born April 24, 1929 the son of the late Mr. Will Free and Mrs. Pearl Sudduth Free. He worked in both real estate and at the Villa Rica Lumber Company as a bookkeeper for 25 years. He also worked for the Carroll County Board of Education as a security guard at Villa Rica High School for several years. He was former president for the Ruitan Club in New Georgia, former member of the Villa Rica City Council, and a charter member of the Villa Rica Optimist Club. He served on the Board of Tourism for the city of Villa Rica. He was the first recipient to receive the Historic Preservation award from the city of Villa Rica. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 yrs, Thelma Hitchcock Free of Villa Rica; daughter and son-in-law, Dawn and Spencer Hembree of Waco; two grandchildren, Jill Pope, and Julie and her husband Casey Hall; two great grandchildren Grace and Ellery Hall. Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, May 15, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home of Villa Rica with Dr. Jim Burdette officiating. Interment will follow at New Georgia Baptist Church.
