Robert Chase Rollins, Jr., Hospital Corpsman Third Class (HM3), 79, of Lithia Springs, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, October 14, 2026. He was born on August 9, 1947 in Atlanta, Georgia, to the late Ruth Martin Rollins and Robert Chase Rollins, Sr. Robert.
Robert was someone who always put others before himself - he dedicated his life to being a Hospital Corpsman in the United States Navy, and after his military service he worked as a nurse for many years. Robert loved his church family; he was always the first person at church, spending time and socializing with the people he loved. Robert was a lover of all things musical. He played guitar, bagpipes, piano, bass guitar, and oboe. He used his musical talents to play oboe with the Christian Community Orchestra, which was founded and conducted by Jan Booth for many years, as well as playing oboe with the 8AM Sunday Morning Service orchestra at Central Baptist Church, Conducted by Rev. Vernon Thornton (retired), and he was also an alternate player with the prestigious Westwood Winds.
Before every concert, he always sought out his wife-to-be (Mrs. Nancy Rollins) in the crowd as he and the rest of the musicians were warming up. With his reed in his mouth, he made sure to tell her with a smile, "I'm with the band." Not only did Robert praise Jesus using his musical talent, but he also shared his love of Christ by teaching Sunday School at Dorsett Shoals Baptist Church, where he played guitar on Sunday mornings at 11:00 AM in the Praise Band. Robert will be remembered for being humble, always happy, selfless, giving, kind, goofy, always positive, having a heart of gold and loving to dance up and down the halls at home. He loved teaching others, especially children, about his passion for music and his love for Jesus Christ.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by James Robert Thomason, Jr.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mrs. Nancy Rollins; sons, Robert F. Rollins, Timothy Jr., Brandon, and Christopher; daughters, Angela, Alicia, Kimberly and Camryn; and sister, Susan (Bobby) Fleming.
