Robert Wayne Schlief

March 2, 1940 — December 30, 2025

Douglasville

Robert “Bob” Wayne Schlief, age 85, of Douglasville, Georgia, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on December 30, 2025, in Lithia Springs, Georgia.

Bob was born on March 2, 1940, in West Concord, Minnesota, to the late Woodrow and Lillian Schlief. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 58 years, Sandra Schlief; his son, Jeff Schlief; his parents, Woodrow and Lillian Schlief; and his brother, Kenneth Schlief.

He is survived by his loving children: Danny and Teresa Schlief, Sherrie and Jeff Jenkins, and Rodney and Shanna Schlief; his sisters, Beverly Strandberg and Debbie Stovall; grandchildren Trista Floyd, Jordan Schlief, Angel Hatcher, Amy Sellars, Brad Schlief, Patrick Penna, Kim Arnold, Chad Jenkins, Gavin Goodrich, Alex Goodrich, Collin Goodrich, and Katie Schlief; and 15 great-grandchildren, all of whom were a tremendous blessing in his life.

Bob devoted 47 years of faithful service as a Trucking Operations Supervisor, retiring from Cornerstone Transportation, where he was respected for his dedication and integrity. He proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Air Force. Above all, Bob was a man of deep faith. He served faithfully as a Deacon of Fullerville Baptist Church, where he loved the Lord, his church family, and serving others.

A devoted husband, loving father, faithful servant, and gentle grandfather, Bob lived his life as a reflection of Christ’s love. He was a gifted handyman, always willing to help, known for his playful, silly humor and his steady, caring presence. He loved his family dearly and led by quiet example, faith, and humility.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville, Georgia. The family will receive visitors from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., with the service beginning at 1:00 p.m. We rejoice in the promise that Bob is now resting in eternal peace, reunited with loved ones and in the presence of his Savior.
