Mr. Robert Vincent Wylie, Sr., age 97 of Villa Rica, Georgia passed away Wednesday, October 14, 2020. He was born January 15, 1923 in Glassport, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Mr. William Vincent Wylie and the late Mrs. Henrietta Irene Bradley Randig. Mr. Wylie was a veteran of the United States Navy, and served during WWII & also served in Korea, Vietnam and the Lebanon Conflict. He retired from the Navy after 26 years of service as a Chief Petty Officer. Mr. Wylie was a 33rd degree Mason in the Scottish Rite and York Rite and was also a member of the Eastern Star. He was of the Presbyterian faith and has served as a Deacon and an Elder in his church.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Wylie was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Flora Virginia McMahon Wylie; his brother, Tom Randig; and his sister, Eulalia Schriver.
He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Irene and John Scarry of Woodstock, Darlene and Charlie McCravy of Douglasville and Helen and Gus Henriques of Villa Rica; his son and daughter-in-law, Robert V. Wylie, Jr. and Shawna Wylie of Greensboro, Georgia; his brother and sister-in-law, Karl and Madeline Randig of Glassport, Pennsylvania; 7 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 3 great great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home of Villa Rica, Saturday, October 17, 2020 from 1:00PM until 2:00PM. Funeral services with military honors provided by the United States Navy Honor Guard will be conducted from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Villa Rica, Saturday, October 17, 2020 at 2:00PM with Rev. Gus Henriques officiating. Musical selections will be rendered by Micah Johnson. Interment will follow in the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia on Thursday, October 22, 2020.
