Mrs. Roberta Swingley Swiger, age 80, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away October 22, 2009 at her residence. She was born January 12, 1929 in Brooksville, Florida to the late Mr. Cleta Deck Singley and the late Mrs. Catherine Ellen Dunkin Swingley. Mrs. Swiger retired from teaching in the Hillsborough County School District in Florida. She volunteered her time as a Pink Lady at the Brandon General Hospital in Brandon, Florida. She was a member of the First Methodist Church in Brandon. Mrs. Swiger was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Mrs. Swiger is preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Paul V. Swiger. They were married in Seffner, Florida on March 23, 1951. She is survived by daughters and son-in-laws Carol and Tim Morris of Douglasville, Paula and Dwayne Walls of Huntingdon, Tennessee; sisters and brother-in law, Frances Hill of Bradenton, Florida and Catherine and Bill Mathis of Vernon, Florida; grand-children, Kate Walls, Jenny Bailey, Austin Morris, Adam Morris and Alyssa Morris; great-grandson Alex Chalk; several nieces and nephews also survive.
