Robie Baskin

Mrs. Robie Helena Nixon Baskin, age 82, of Carrollton, passed away Thursday, February 6, 2014. She was born July 10, 1931 in Carroll County, Georgia, the daughter of the late Mr. Cliff Hobson Nixon and the late Mrs. Gertrude Lillian Patterson Nixon. She was retired from the Carroll County School System. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, flowers and gardening. Mrs. Baskin was a lifelong member of Concord United Methodist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wayman Lee Baskin; two brothers, Charles Nixon and Guilliam Nixon. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Barry Waters of Carrollton; sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Marty Baskin of Douglasville and Rodney and Peggy Baskin of Temple; sisters and brother-in-law, Jane Nixon of Lithia Springs, Sherry and Harold Castona of Douglasville; brothers and sisters-in-law, Harold and Margaret Nixon of Carrollton, Jerrell and Mildred Nixon of Carrollton; sisters-in-law, Linda Nixon of Lithia Springs, Ora Lee Taylor of Douglasville; eight grandchildren, Brooke and Jason Hester of Carrollton, Courtney and Matthew Garner of Pensacola, FL, Ashton and Adam Green of Atlanta, Luke Waters of Atlanta, Logan Waters of Carrollton, Drew Waters of Carrollton, Alysha Baskin of Douglasville, Kate Baskin of Douglasville; two great grandchildren, Daniel Garner and Hayley Garner of Pensacola, FL. Several nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home Saturday, February 8, 2014 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Funeral Service will be conducted Sunday, February 9, 2014 at 4:00 PM from Concord United Methodist Church with Dr. Robert Brown and Rev. Mike Lowery officiating.
