Roger Johnson

Mr. Roger Seward Johnson, 70, of Lithia Springs, Georgia passed away Sunday, February 18, 2018. He was born March 25, 1947 in Moundsville, West Virginia, the son of the late Mr. Robert Seward Johnson and the late Mrs. Helen Long Johnson. In 2012, he retired as the owner of D&R Crown and Bridge which he owned and operated for over 20 years. He was a people person and enjoyed helping others and making people laugh. He served as a Little League Coach in Winston and Bill Arp for over 14 years. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of Clearview Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Mae McElroy Johnson. He is survived by his wife, Sybil Phelps Johnson of Lithia Springs; two sons and daughters-in-law, Chris and Kelly Johnson of Douglasville and Blakely and Paige Johnson of Douglasville; stepdaughter, Stacy Pruitt Gibson of Douglasville; stepson and daughter-in-law, Steve and Laura Pruitt of Douglasville; sisters, Jean Hodges of Aiken, SC, Clara Livingston of South Carolina, and Joy Paradise of New Hampshire; brother and sister-in-law, William Leslie Johnson Sr. and his wife, Joanne of Bamberg, SC; eight grandchildren, Spencer Pruitt, Tyler Gibson, Tiffany Gibson, Stephen Pruitt, Kayla Dickinson, Victoria Johnson, Maddie Johnson, and Harper Johnson; one great-grandchild, Kegan Pruitt; uncle, Daniel Michael Johnson of Melbourne, FL; aunt, Midge Tennant of Moundsville, WV; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville, Wednesday, February 21, 2018 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Thursday, February 22, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Clearview Baptist Church, 4456 Dodson Drive, Douglasville, GA 30134 with Brother Rick Eaves and Minister Mike Mallory officiating. Interment will follow at Mozley Memorial Gardens in Lithia Springs. Messages of condolence to the family may be sent at www.jones-wynn.com.
