Roland Royce Roper

Roland Royce Roper, 78, of Temple, Georgia passed away on Thursday, March 23, 2023. He was born on May 4, 1944. He is the son of the late Carl William Roper and the late Lela Jones Roper.

Roland enjoyed life and had a great sense of humor. He loved the Lord. He enjoyed gardening and he had an amazing “green thumb." He was a lover of all types of music, especially Gospel. As a child, Roland enjoyed singing on the radio.   Roland worked very hard as master barber, often having multiple jobs at a time.

In addition to his parents, Roland is preceded in death by his brothers, C.J. Roper, Farris Roper, Herman Roper, Larry Roper, Hayward Roper; sisters, Madge Roper Bagwell, and Ella Roper Buice.

He is survived by his daughters, Jill Roper of Douglasville, Georgia, Beth Roper of Stone Mountain, Georgia; sons and daughters-in-law, Matthew and Stefanie Roper of Lithia Springs, Georgia, Chad and Sharalene Roper of Temple, Georgia; sisters, Gloria and Ronald Steele, Marie and Ray Corn, Vera Roper Treadway and Teena Roper Baker; grandchildren, Jarrod, Austin, Elayna, Ian; numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will have a Memorial Service in the Villa Room at First Baptist Church of Villa Rica on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at 1:00 PM. The family will receive friends before the service from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM.
