Mr. Ronald Cecil Alexander, 50, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Tuesday, October 23, 2007 at Wellstar Tranquility Hospice. He was born December 13, 1956 in Washington D.C. the son of Mr. Horace Cecil Alexander and the late Mrs. Bobbie Jean Tuck Alexander. He married Sherry McSheehy on July 1, 1978 in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. He was the security manager for the Georgia District of the United Parcel Service (UPS). He enjoyed music, trucks, and recreational vehicles. Mr. Alexander enjoyed his daily visit to QuikTrip. He was an avid NASCAR fan supporting #88 UPS sponsored Darrell Jarrett. Mr. Alexander was a loving husband, father, son, brother, and grandfather to his only granddaughter. Mr. Alexander is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Sherry McSheehy Alexander of Douglasville; three daughters and sons-in-law, Nichole and Marc Asquith of Kansas City, MO, Brandi and Marc Smith of Douglasville, and Lauren Alexander of Douglasville; one son, Aaron Alexander of Douglasville; his father, Horace Cecil Alexander of Benedict, MD; one sister, Peggy Alexander of Texas; two brothers, Ricky Alexander and Lonnie Alexander both of Colorado; one granddaughter, Samantha Alexis Asquith; along with many other family members. Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, October 27, 2007 at 11:30 AM from the First Baptist Church of Douglasville with Dr. John Pennington officiating and Mr. Morris Roper, Mr. Mike Smith, Mr. Bernard Daniels, Mr. Toney Frank and Mr. Larry Bennenick rendering eulogies. Mr. Alexander will lie in state at the church Saturday from 11:00 AM until the funeral hour. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel, Friday, October 26, 2007 from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The family will receive friends at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home in Kansas City, MO, Tuesday, October 30, 2007 from 10:00 AM until the funeral hour. Graveside Services will be Tuesday, October 30, 2007 at 11:00 AM from Mt. Moriah Cemetery in Kansas City, MO. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Mr. Alexander to a trust fund set up for his children's education.
