Ronnie Hicks

Mr. Ronnie Lamar Hicks, age 62, of Douglasville passed away Tuesday, May 1, 2012. He was born June 27, 1949 in Macon, Georgia the son of the late Mr. Roman Hicks and the late Mrs. Margaret Tucker Hicks. He served in the Marine Corps and worked as the manager of Weaver Transportation Company. He was a member of Sunset Hills Baptist Church in Douglasville. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Gail Serena Walls Hicks. He is survived by his son, Robert “Bobby” Lakin and fiancé Raina Barber of Roswell; sister, Brenda Brady of Washington; brother, Harry Hicks of Tallapoosa; four grandchildren, Jacob White, Caliyah White, Daniella White, Andrew White and one soon to be grandchild, Hollis Lakin: dear friend, Melinda Hammond. Several nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville, Thursday, May 3, 2012 from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Friday, May 4, 2012 at 10: 00 AM from the chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Rev. Marcus Miller and Rev. Marty Watson officiating. Interment will follow at 12:30 PM at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia with the Marine Corps Honor Guard. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family from www.jones-wynn.com.
