Rose Barfield

Mrs. Rose Couch Barfield, age 88, passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2018. She was born September 17, 1930, the daughter of Mr. Marvin Chester Couch and Mrs. Lillian Louise Harper. She was a CLEA participant with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, worked at the Douglas County Polling Site for many years. She was an active member of County Line Baptist Church, where she was a Retired and Happy Member of the “RAH-RAH” group. She began her career with Georgia Power Company where she worked for 20 years. She then went to work at UPS in the Accounting Department and retired after 17 years.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, C.A. Barfield, Jr., brother, Riley “Bo” Couch. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Derrick Cox of Valdosta; sons and daughters-in-law, Cal and Tonya Barfield, III of Temple, Bobby and Karen Barfield of Burlington, KY; grandchildren, Beverly and Perry Gillis, Emily and Chris Griesback, Kayla Cox, Jordan and Leigh Cox, Laura Barfield, Lindsay Barfield; great grandchildren, Julie Ryll, J.P. Gillis, Jr., Tyler Griesback, Brendan Griesback, Jacob Griesback; several step-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home of Douglasville, Thursday, November 29, 2018 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM. Funeral services will be conducted, Thursday, November 29, 2018 at 1:00 PM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Armstrong officiating.
