Roselyn H. Davenport

Roselyn Henry Davenport, age 88, also affectionately known as "Rosie," passed away at her home on March 26, 2024. Roselyn was born in Rocky Point, North Carolina, on July 2, 1935, to the late Mr. John Thomas Henry, Sr. and the late Mrs. Montez Costin Henry.

Throughout her life, Roselyn held several esteemed positions, including working in the Pentagon for the Main Navy and later retiring from the Georgia Department of Agriculture. She leaves behind a legacy filled with love, kindness, and dedication. Roselyn was known for her sunny disposition, unwavering support, and protective nature towards those she cared for. She had a love for her family and animals and was described as patriotic. Her generosity extended to donating to veterans and animal charities.

In her free time, Roselyn found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She was an avid reader that found solace in romance novels and fiction. Among her proudest accomplishments were the moments she shared with historical figures such as John F. Kennedy and Dwight D. Eisenhower.

Roselyn is preceded in death by husband Bill Davenport; her parents, Mr. John Thomas Henry Sr. and Mrs. Montez Costin Henry; her sisters Naurene Lambert and Cathryn Jane Borgard.

Roselyn is survived by her daughter, Sherri (Lamar) Bowden; grandchildren, Dustin (Nina) Bowden and Michael (Crystal) Bowden; great-grandchildren, Jacey, Jaden, Trenton, Luke, Haden, and Addison; great-great-grandchildren, Lydia, Mason, and Cooper; brother, John Thomas Henry, Jr.; three nieces, one nephew, as well as cherished friends.

According with her wishes, Mrs. Roselyn was cremated.
