Rosemary Preston, age 76, a beloved figure and true embodiment of Southern grace, left this world on October 7, 2024, at her home, surrounded by the love she so generously shared throughout her life. She was born on January 17, 1948, in Atlanta, Georgia, to the late Mr. Thurman "Buddy" Goss and the late Mrs. Nancy Phillips Goss.
Rosemary's journey through life was marked by her faith, kindness, and a heart of gold. An accomplished accountant, Rosemary applied her skills with diligence. She possessed an Associate’s degree which laid a strong foundation for a rewarding career that spanned many years. However, her greatest achievement was not measured by numbers, but rather by the love and devotion she bestowed upon her family. For nearly 50 years, Rosemary was the devoted wife of Mr. Ray Preston. Their partnership was a testament to love that endures. A true southern lady, Rosemary embodied the essence of selflessness and care, always putting others before herself with a nurturing spirit that drew people to her.
Rosemary lived in McEachern Village in Powder Springs for a time, where she created memories that will be cherished by those who knew her, especially her closest friends, Ms. Pat and Ms. Shirley. She had a deep bond with her canine companions, past and present. Her first dog, Rusty, held a special place in her heart, and now, her love continues with her surviving dog, BoDuke.
Rosemary was a woman who believed profoundly in God, and she lived her faith with sincerity in her everyday actions. Those who were graced by her presence found solace in her kindness and compassion—a reflection of her character that will never be forgotten. Her legacy is one of love, generosity, and a steadfast belief in the goodness of others.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Rosemary is preceded in death by her beloved husband of almost 50 years, Mr. Ray William Preston; brother, Mike Goss; sister, Jean Verner.
Rosemary is survived by her daughter, Michelle Cook; grandson, Bailey Cook and his wife.
Special thanks to friends of the family that have shown unwavering support during this difficult time, Alia Gillie, Katrina Wagner, Renee Reid, Nissa Sinoyiannis, and Shea Childers.
