Rowland Bishop

Mr. Rowland Bishop, age 84, of Temple passed away Thursday, April 28, 2011. He was born October 28, 1926 in Roopville, Georgia the son of the late Mr. Robert Hughs Bishop and the late Mrs. Dora Ava Hardegree Bishop. He retired as a textile machinist. He served in the United States Navy during WWII. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 57 years, Edith York Bishop and eleven brothers and sisters. He is survived by his daughter, Pamela J. Bishop of Doraville; sons and daughter-in-law, Ronald A. Bishop of Temple, GA, Michael A. and Maureen Bishop of Crestview, FL, Russell A. Bishop of Laurel, MD; four grandchildren. Shane and Michelle Bishop of Jackson, GA, Sean Bishop of VA, Brian Bishop of Crestview, FL, James and Devan Bishop of Baker, FL; six great-grandchildren, Kassie Bishop of Jackson, GA, Jeremy Bishop of Jackson, GA, Kailey Bishop of Fort Walton Beach, FL, Kaitlyn Bishop of Baker, FL, Karley Bishop of Baker, FL, and Dakota Bishop of Baker, FL, as well as a number of extended family and friends. Graveside Services will be conducted Sunday, May 1, 2011 at 3:00 PM from Providence Baptist Church Cemetery in Tallapoosa, Georgia with Mr. Terry Harper speaking. Interment will follow at Providence Baptist Cemetery in Tallapoosa. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica, Saturday, April 30, 2011 from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM.
