Roy Lindsey Pitts

Mr. Roy Lindsey Pitts, age 79, of Villa Rica, passed away Thursday, September 5, 2024. He was born February 20, 1945 in LaGrange, GA to the late Mr. David Pitts and the late Mrs. Myrtle Fletcher Pitts.

Roy found joy in riding dirt country roads, often discovering hidden creeks. He enjoyed playing card games and dice. Roy was a familiar presence at yard sales, always on the hunt for that perfect treasure. His commitment to his faith was unwavering; Roy was actively involved in his church, Victory Tabernacle where he dedicated his time and energy to serving others. He had a love for Gospel Music. Family was a very important part of Roy’s life, including family gatherings watching the girls play ball. In addition to his dedication to family and faith, Roy spent many enjoyable hours at the Temple Senior Center, where he spent time with dear friends.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Katherine Victoria Pitts; son, Terry Pitts.

He is survived by his children, Kenny (Melinda) Pitts, Amanda (Michael) Steele, and Holly (Joseph) Capra; siblings, Mary (Jerry) Fugatt of FL, Judy Curtis of Temple, Gary Pitts of Ringgold, Billy (Hannah) Pitts of Chattanooga, TN; grandchildren, David (Marlee) Pitts, Kelsy Pitts, Stella Capra, Kylee Steele, and Emma Capra; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica on Sunday, September 8, 2024 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM with Rev. Roger Luke officiating. Chad Perry, Rodney Williams, Jared Boynton, Travis Smith, Jimmy Pruitt, and Mark Camp will serve as pallbearers. Interment will take place at Sunrise Garden of Memories in Douglasville.
